Police in Ntungamo District are investigating circumstances under which Benon Bwendero, 75 was murdered in cold blood.
According to Bwendero’s sister Tugabe Apofia, the deceased was murdered near his rental house in Libya trading center, Nyamunuuka Town council by assailants suspected to be his sons.
The incident happened on Tuesday at 10pm when killers cut him thrice on the head.
Apofia narrated that the deceased had left his matrimonial home to live with one of his relatives in Libya trading center after developing conflicts with his wife and children over land.
It is alleged that Bwendero wanted to kill his wife and children after barring him from selling the family land.
The eye witnesses noted that his two sons called on their paternal aunt a one Tugabe informing her that they wanted to come and see their father so that they can settle their issues and take him back home; little did he know that they were coming to murder him.
This is the second murder in two weeks in the same village.
The Ntungamo district CID, Godes Twinamatsiko confirmed the incident.
The chairperson Nyamunuuka Town council condemned the gruesome murder and asked Police to apprehend the perpetrators and charge accordingly.
By press time the body was still lying at Rwashamaire health center IV mortuary for postmortem.
