Public notices have been issued in all areas near Najjanankumbi by local councils seeking to arrest a 32 year old man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 17 year old boy.
The notices followed the warrant of arrest on April 18, 2019 by the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Makindye in Kampala city seeking to bring to court Samuel Kakeeto who has since gone missing but is wanted on charges related to homosexuality.
The resident of Najjanankumbi Church zone on Entebbe road is said to have committed the offence way back in August of 2017. It is against the laws of Uganda for people of the same sex to have canal knowledge of one another. If found guilty, Kakeeto faces life in jail.
Citing Panel code act 145 – 146, court issued a notice to all security agencies in Uganda to arrest on site and produce Kakeeto before the honorable Court but has not been found.
Kakeeto’s whereabouts remain unknown.
The victim’s father Raymond Muwonge has however vowed to follow up the matter and has opened another case at Najjanankumbi Police station under file number SD:06/26/08/2017. Mr Muwonge says he will not rest until he sees Kakeeto facing justice. He appealed to government to do anything possible to arrest and prosecute Kakeeto according to the law.
