Emirates is set to add an additional three flights a week to Entebbe Airport.
The new extra flights – on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – will commence on July 5 to September 15..
Currently, the airline operates daily Entebbe – Dubai flights – operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, to over 150 destinations via its Dubai hub.
The B777-300ER aircraft is one of the most technologically advanced and efficient aircraft in the world.
aircraft’s advanced wing design, efficient engine and light structure make more efficient use of fuel. This means significantly less emissions than similar aircrafts, making it one of the most ‘green’ long-range commercial aircraft types.
The introduction of the extra flights is in response to increase in passenger traffic from Entebbe to Emirates’ global destinations such as Dubai, London, New York, Beijing and Guangzhou, according to John Gemin, Emirates Country Manager.
Flight EK731 will leave Dubai at 01:15hrs and will arrive in Entebbe at 05:45hrs. The return flight, EK732, will depart Entebbe at 07:15hrs and will arrive in Dubai at 13:45hrs.
“Uganda is an important market for Emirates, in a region that has registered significant growth. From April 2018 to March 2019 Emirates carried over 90,000 passengers between Entebbe and Dubai, and we are committed to facilitating trade, tourism and cargo exports in the years to come. Our customers have come to expect the high standard of product and service we offer, and the increased flights will offer them greater flexibility to connect to their favourite destinations,” Gemin said.
Emirates is currently the only airline operating with a First Class cabin in Uganda.
Emirates’ First Class experience has defined premium travel introducing product innovations like private suites, the in-flight Shower Spa, the Onboard Lounge and many other industry firsts.
The airline’s latest First Class cabin features the game-changing, fully enclosed private suites inspired by Mercedes-Benz that have floor to ceiling sliding doors, sleek design features, soft leather seating, high-tech control panels and mood lighting. Emirates was also awarded Best First Class in the world at the 2019 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice® awards for Airlines.
On all Emirates’ flights, customers can look forward to hours of entertainment on the award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, which offers over 4,000 channels of on-demand audio and visual entertainment, from the latest movies, music, audio books and games, as well as family friendly products and services for children, including complimentary toys, kids’ meals and movies. Emirates started operations to Entebbe in March 2000, with three flights a week linked with Nairobi, and later with Addis Abba, until it was delinked in 2007 and became a direct daily service between Dubai and Entebbe. Operations have steadily grown with increases in both frequency and capacity between Entebbe and Dubai to match customer demand.
