Uganda Cranes and Vipers midfielder Moses Waisswa is set for a move to South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) after he is done with the national team engagement at the 2019 African Cup Of Nations.
Waiswa is part of the Uganda Cranes provisional squad that traveled to Abu-Dhabi as the Cranes continue their preparations for the continental football showpiece. The cranes are grouped with Egypt, Zimbabwe and DR Congo in Group A.
Reports indicate that the silky midfielder was meant to complete the transfer to South Africa based Super Sport United after impressing the PSL side early this month but has opted to wait as he focuses on having a good AFCON tournament.
There has also been a standoff between Vipers and Waiswa as the latter recently refused a contract extension at the club, a situation which escalated into the midfielder being dropped for games as the Uganda Premier League season drew to a close.
Reliable sources inside the club have also indicated that both clubs have already agreed to an offer of USD50,000 equivalent to around Shs186 million.
Waiswa and camp though do not have a lot of time as the club (Super sport) is not happy with the stall in proceedings as they are not willing to wait until the end of the Egypt tournament.
Waiswa joined Vipers two seasons ago from Sweden side Vaxjo United and went on to guide them to the Uganda Premier League triumph in his first season as well as being voted as the best player for the year last year by Federation of Uganda Football Federation (FUFA).
