Quiin Abenakyo has been a darling Miss Uganda after representing the country well in last year’s Miss World Beauty Pageant in China.
Her reign will however, come to an end on July 27.
With just about two months to go, Brenda Nanyonjo, the CEO of Miss Uganda Foundation said the search for the next Miss Uganda will start on Monday, May 20.
While highlighting the qualities to be considered while choosing the next beauty queen, Nanyonjo said they are looking for young, tall and confident girls.
Also, judges will this time be very keen on contestant’s personality and character.
“Miss Uganda has returned and the search is opening on Monday next week. If you have what it takes, pick up forms and register. Unlike the previous year, we are going to sieve two regional competitors in one day because of time,” Nanyonjo said.
Nanyonjo noted that the lucky candidates will then head to a bootcamp on July 6, and the grand finale will take place on July 27 at Kampala Sheraton Hotel. Then, Abenakyo will hand over the crown to the new queen.
As it was in the 2018 edition, socialite Zari Hassan will return as patron and one of the judges.
Abenakyo broke all records when she made it to the top five of the Miss World Beauty Pageant. The 23-year-old beauty also managed to bring home a first ever Miss World Africa crown.
