In January, Tooro Princess Ruth Nsemere Komuntale had hinted on a May wedding to Phil Amooti, posting on Instagram, “#countdownbegins#february#april and then boom! Thank you for all the sacrifices you make for us and this country baby.”
And after the debacle that was the marriage to Duke Thomas, all is set for a December do.
Not much is known about Amooti, a fellow Mutooro but it’s said that he is an information Technology Engineer. The two have had a secret relationship for quite some time after Komuntale’s marriage with Christopher Duke Thomas ended in 2013.
Then, the Princess issued a statement to say “It’s regrettable to see that our marriage with Thomas, an African American from St Louis, Missouri, has ended like a shooting star across a clear night sky. Thomas struck me as my Prince Charming the moment I met him. He was irresistible and, when he asked for my hand in marriage, I could not say no. I loved Thomas as my husband and respected him and our marriage vows until the end and it saddens to announce that our marriage has ended. When we wedded last year, it was our – and every body’s wish – that our marriage would last and stand the test of time, but inevitably this has not been the case!”
And given media reaction at the time and in the aftermath, the Princess had no kind words this time, stating that a lot of fake news has been made up to make her look bad. For that reason, her wedding will only be attended by close family and friends.
“Uganda media do anything to sell their stupid papers. FYI When I do get married to my soul mate; Phil, it’ll be a destination wedding, away from y’all negativity, clatter and noise. Only close family and friends will be invited,” she stated this week.
Through her social media platform, the Princess pinned some Ugandans for being judgmental, and that her leaving the country was the best decision she has ever made.
“Reminds me why I left and it sure was the best decision ever. But this I know for sure, I will have the last laugh… watch that space” said 29-year-old Princess.
We cannot wait.
