Bobi Wine is missing.
The musician turned politician has reportedly escaped from his house where he has been heavily guarded by the police.
The ‘Ghetto Gladiator’ was forced into house arrest following his call for demonstration after his Easter Monday Kyarenga Extra concert was cancelled by the Police.
Since then, Police has deployed thousands of uniformed men with guns around the parliamentarian’s residence in Magere, Kyadondo East, Wakiso District.
However, according to blogger Ashburg Kato, despite the heavy security deployment, the Kyarenga singer managed to find his way out.
He could have escaped during the wee hours of Thursday morning.
Other sources have intimated to Watchdog Uganda that Police still believe that there is a possibility Bobi Wine is still hiding inside his mansion. A house search since morning has yielded no results.
The search for the singer has also been extended to Semakokiro Plaza where his studio has also been sealed off by the Police and Military.
On Tuesday during a presser at his home in Magere, Bobi Wine said that he will be holding peaceful demonstrations as a way of protesting police continued blocking of his concerts.
Police has not yet issued a formal notice about Bobi Wine’s escape. In other news, Kato, who was arrested on Tuesday has been freed.
“I am safe and free.. Yes I’ve been at UCC for more than 8 eight hours and I can confirm that I’ve not gone through any torture. I have also learnt that it’s illegal to go live on facebook if you don’t have a license from UCC,” Kato posted.
