Sevelina Mwihaki Kamau, a housemaid has been accused of killing her eight-months- old daughter for resembling Kenya opposition figure Raila Odinga.
Kamau allegedly committed the crime while at her employer’s place in Riverside, within Nairobi County on February 19, 2019.
According to the-star.co.ke, a local news website, Kibera senior resident magistrate Renee Kamau denied the suspect a bond and subjected her to a psychiatric examination at Mathare Mental Hospital before she can enter a plea.
The prosecution said Kamau was a frequent bhang smoker who smoked during pregnancy and after giving birth.
The prosecution also alleged that after killing her daughter, she hid her for some time before the neighbours noticed the girl was missing and reported the case to Kilimani Police Station. In turn she was arrested.
