SC Villa head coach Douglas Bamweyana is in rage with the manner of officiation exhibited during their goalless draw with fellow relegation strugglers Ndejje University at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
“I do not have to be a trained referee to know that the ref was not fair. And today (Tuesday) we have witnessed one of the worst decisions against us this season. If the referees had done better we should have won the game but am disappointed with their performance,” said Bamweyana after the game.
Referee Moses Oloya waved off penalty claims by Villa players after a shot seemed to have hit Stephen Akena’s arm with half time about to close. Players and Bamweyana did not take long to show their anger as they attacked Oloya and his officials just after the half time whislte.
However, Villa were the better side as they threw everything they had at Ndejje but to no fruition as the lions managed to thwart anything Villa threw at them.
And Bamweyana said that his team should have done better especially in the final third as they created the chances but fluffed them.
“I believe we should have done better especially infront of goal. We dominated the game and created two keeper to beat situations but failed to bury them. That is something we have to improve,” Bamweyana added.
The draw means Villa still hold the advantage over Ndejje in the relegation battle, three points ahead with just three games to go till the end of the season.
The record league champions visit Maroons FC, who are just two points ahead with a game in hand before they host Tooro United and Nyamityobora who are already relegated on the final day.
Ndejje will host league leaders and title chasers KCCA next before Onduparaka visit the Arena of Visions with a trip to Jinja to face Kirinya Jinja SS coming on the final day.
