Kabale district local government has laid a budget estimate amounting to Shs33,037,555,658 for the financial year 2019/2020 with more focus on improving livelihood of communities through properly identified and guided expenditure.
The budget was presented on Monday by the Kabale district chairperson Patrick Besigye Keihwa during the district council session that was chaired by the district speaker Loy Zikampereza at Kabale council hall, Kabale municipality.
Keihwa revealed that special attention was put on health, agriculture, feeder roads improvement, increased production and productivity at household level, education services, and safe water provision through water harvesting.
Keihwa added that the budget will help to strengthen the management of local government revenues, donor funds and central government.
Shortly after the session of council,a section of district councilors that included the Kitumba woman councilor Turyakira Christine and the district youth representative George Kakwenza acknowledged that if the budget is well approved,it will be easy for the district to implement,improve production works since all departments have been catered for.
