Former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya has warned Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine against Social Development Party (SDP) leader Mike Mabikke.
Recently, the Democratic Party (DP) held an event to sign a memorandum of understanding with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Dr Abed Bwanika and Mabike’s party and officially unveiled the DP block as they prepare for 2021 general elections.
The meeting held at Africana hotel got endorsed by a number of political figures including People Power pressure group strong hold Bobi Wine among others.
Appearing on CBS’s ‘Nze nga bwendaba’ interview Bukenya said Bobi Wine should not associate with any political formation to which Mabikke is a party or else he will leave to regret.
“Bobi Wine has no future or hope to make any progress as long as he works with such people. He can build his own thing than allying with such people,” he said.
“Those [Mabikke and company] are political failures and Kyagulanyi should get a team of new faces because these guys have been failing many times. They are wasting people’s time and they should be shunned, they are double faced ever saying one thing and doing totally the opposite.”
Bukenya who worked with Mabikke during the 2016 general elections also revealed that one time the politician wanted to use his closeness to him to negotiate a job for himself with government.
“It was a very painful experience and that is why I cannot be in those things of opposing government anymore because those guys did a lot of nasty things to me. They appeared to surrender SDP to me yet at the same time when they dealing with Sejusa behind my back.”
