Busoga politicians Lumumba, Musumba, Specioza thrown out of Aga Khan Hospital

Three high-ranking female politicians from Busoga region have been bounced at the Aga Khan Hospital for trying to visit hospitalized Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.

Kadaga was airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment after suffering from fatigue related illness. She was first admitted to both Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.

At the weekend, Kadaga assured Ugandans that she is now feeling better and was looking forward to “be discharged soon”.

“I am glad to report that due to God’s Mercy and untiring efforts of doctors in Uganda and Kenya, I do now have a better bill of health,” Kadaga said, before rebuking media reports describing her as extremely unwell and was due to be flown to Spain.

“…contrary to rumours in the press and social media, I am neither in Spain nor in critical condition,” she said.

Kadaga then thanked President Museveni who checked on her both at Nakasero Hospital and Aga Khan Hospital.

“After hearing that the Speaker had thanked people who had visited her including President Museveni, First Lady Janet, Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda among others, Salaamu Musumba and Kasule Lumumba lined up to go visit Kadaga on Saturday,” a source told this reporter.

Lumumba is the NRM Secretary General while Musumba is the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) vice chairman for eastern Uganda.

According to sources, the duo were told that Kadaga did not want to see any uninvited visitors.

But they insisted on seeing her.

However when Kadaga was informed of their presence, she declined to have them ushered in. It is not clear why she refused to see them.

On Sunday, they reportedly returned with former Vice President Specioza Wandira Kazibwe, known widely as Kadaga’s friend.

They were bounced again.

“They left angry and were overheard saying Kadaga is ungreatful,” the source said.

Although Lumumba and Kadaga are at loggerheads due to power fights in Busoga region, the NRM Secretary General last week lauded the people of Busoga for putting their differences aside to pray for the recovery Kadaga.

“She has improved but don’t stop praying for her because we as Busoga and Uganda at large want to see that she is totally healed and as strong as before,” said Lumumba.
