Congolese music legend Awilo Longomba has arrived in the country ahead a show scheduled for Friday, April 5, at Kampala Serena Hotel.
The show, his second in Uganda after his 1998 perfomance, has been dubbed ‘Awilo Live in Kampala.’
The event will also be graced with performances from other artistes such as Eddy Kenzo, Jackie Chandiru, Cindy Sanyu, Levixone and Congolese-Ugandan guitarist Charmant Mushaga.
First to arrive on April 2 was his 11-band crew and their instruments.
After the Serena show, Awilo who is popularly known for songs like Coupe Bibamba, Enemy solo, Modongo, Moyen Te, Karoline, Awilo will head to the Green light Stadium in Arua for another show on April 7.
The 56-year-old started his music career as a drummer in Viva La Musica band. He later ditched drums and started singing in 1995.
According to Cents Events Management, the official organizers of this event, Awilo live in Kampala tickets will go for Shs100,000 VIP, Shs400,000 VVIP, and four millions for a table of 10.
