American-based Ugandan DJ, Erycom has blasted local award organisers for failure to recognize the work of local DJs and waste time on him.
Through his timeline, Erycom warned and advised organisers to never nominate him in any awards because he joined the industry in 2017 with an aim of adding a brick on the industry, but not to be awarded or rewarded.
“I didn’t join the industry expecting any Awards or rewards. This is the 3rd time I am warning and advising all individuals or organization never to ever NOMINATE me in any Awards. YouTube Awarded me in 2016 but I didn’t publicize it (Why), I don’t work for Awards neither am I here to compete or be compared to anyone,” said Erycom.
This notice came after the Association of Ugandan DJs nominated him as the Best DJ in the Diaspora 2019.
However, Erycom feels like Award organizers should focus more and appreciate local DJs for they put in a lot of efforts, and also begged that his name should be removed from the nomination list of DJ Awards.
“Please remove my name from the nominees, there are so many good DJs like DJ Bryan Ting, Mutesa, John, Deejay Kris etc that should be nominated but you choose to downgrade them to focus on me. Mulekere awo okuzalawa other DJs,” he said.
