Songstress Sheebah Karungi topped the list of winners at HiPipo Music Awards 2019, bagging four accolades in the event that happened at Kampala Serena Hotel on March 16.
Sheebah walked away with the award for Artiste of the Year, Best female artiste, Best Album (Omwoyo), and Best Afrobeat song (Wankona).
Other artistes awarded included, David Lutalo as Best Male artiste, Best Duo was Voltage music, Must watch talent was John Blaq, Song of the year was Kyarenga among others.
However, winners in this award gala didn’t fall far away from Watchdog’s initial prediction, thus proving that this time round, HiPipo awards organizers have tried to be more transparent.
This annual award gala has always received criticisms for their lack of transparence, being disorganized and ‘fake’, something that forced artistes like Bebe Cool and Ykee Benda to request organisers to stop nominating them.
