The former special presidential assistant on research and information, Morrison Rwakakamba and six others have been as board members of the Uganda Investments Authority (UIA).
The announcement was made by the State minister in charge of privatisation and investments Evelyn Anite.
Rwakakamba had applied for the position of UIA executive director but lost out Jolly Kamugira Kaguhangire even though he was reportedly the best candidate.
“We have given them time to accept or decline the appointments. They must be ready to start work by April 1, 2019 and we are funding them adequately to take the lead in attracting investors especially for our drive to industrialisation to create more jobs,” Anite said.
Rwakabamba, is also the Global Senior Director of Policy at pay-go energy company, Fenix International.
The Harvard Kennedy School alumnus also served as the Country Director for Bridge International Academies, and head of the Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC),
Rwakakamba has also worked with the Uganda National Farmers Federation, Twaweza East Africa and the Uganda Chamber of Commerce.
