Former Blu*3 diva Jackie Chandiru is excited to be one of the artistes to share a stage with Awilo Longomba.
The Congolese Lingala legend will be performing in Kampala on April 15, 2019 at Kampala Serena Hotel.
Excited for her big stage comeback, Chandiru took it on her facebook page to share the news with her fans.
“I will be jamming on the same stage with the legend, Awilo Longomba come April 5 at Kampala Serena Hotel,” Chandiru posted.
After close to three years off the musical scene because of drug addiction problems, Chandiru re-launched her music career again last December. Currently she has songs like ‘Whine it’ with Chameleone and ‘Mi asiku’ among others.
The show will also be graced with performances from other artistes like Cindy Sanyu, Levixone and Congolese-Ugandan guitarist Charmant Mushaga.
The 56-year-old Awilo Longomba started his music career as a drummer in Viva La Musica band. Popular for songs such as Coupe Bibamba, Gate le Coin, Modongo, Longomba ditched the drums for the leading role in 1995.
His music dominated Ugandan airwaves in the early 2000’s thanks to a wave of mushrooming local stations.
