Miss Uganda Foundation CEO Brenda Nanyonjo has joined several other Quiin Abenakyo admirers by defending the beauty queen from social media bullying and mockery over her claimed ‘fake’ degree.
Nanyonjo asserts that the reigning Miss World Africa, Abenakyo didn’t fail her Financial Management paper at Makerere University Business School as social gossips allege, but she missed that exam while handling her Miss Uganda duties.
“We explained to the university about Abenakyo’s case, and they told us to write to them with proof that Abenakyo was carrying out official duties which we did. When we were done, she was given her exams, passed and graduated,” Nanyonjo said.
Therefore, according to Nanyonjo, Abenakyo’s degree is not fake and it was awarded to her on merit.
“She worked hard and deserved it,” she said.
This uncontrolled rumor went viral when Prof Wasswa Balunywa, the Mubs Principal revealed that Abenakyo had failed her Financial Management paper, but didn’t have time to retake it with fellow students.
Last month, Abenakyo was among several graduates who were awarded with Bachelors’ Degree in Business Computing at Makerere University, but her degree has always been termed as ‘fake’ by hawk eyed critics who had not seen her name in the graduation booklet.
