Life.
Enjoy it.
While it lasts.
Team #TulambuleUganda were doing just that until they almost became the next victims of a mauling incident by a lion at Kidepo Valley National Park on Thursday.
Tulambule Uganda is a ‘Tour Uganda’ campaign organised by Tourism Junior minister Geoffrey Kiwanda.
The first edition was headlined by socialite Zari Hassan.
The second edition, whose face was Anita Fabiola, tackled Eastern Uganda over three days.
Sources tell WatchdogUganda that over a camp fire night at the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) bandas on Thursday, Influencers, journalists, JK Kazoora, and others sat to talk about the day’s activities.
In between, some chap from Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) tried to re-act ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’ an Aesop’s Fables piece about a shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village.
Then, shepherd boy made villagers come out of their houses to save him and sheep from wolves that had apparently attacked him. On the fifth time of crying out, ‘Wolf! Wolf!’ neighbours did not want to know. That is when the wolves actually mauled all the sheep. And oba the Shepherd boy.
Kazoora didn’t want to take chances.
When the UTB boy made noise, they laughed.
“Someone actually joked about the number of hyenas in the area, but we laughed,” the source said.
Three seconds later, a real lion actually roared from about three seconds away.
“You should have seen Kazoora run. You should have seen the influencers run. You were not there to see journalists run to the UWA bus,” the source said.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, minister Kiwanda, Fabiola, alongside Miss Tourism Margaret Kankwanzi were not in the camp.
The next #Tulambule tour is scheduled for Northern Uganda.
