President Kaguta Museveni will later on Monday evening meet National Resistance Movement Members of Parliament at State House Entebbe.
According to Bukooli County Central MP Solomon Silwany, this short notice meeting is aimed at discussing the NRM elections road map which was launched by the party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba last month.
Silwany is also NRM parliamentary caucus vice chairperson.
Other key issues to be discussed include the election of parliamentary commissioners.
Recently, Speaker of Parliament Rebeca Kadaga rejected the appointment of back bench commissioners saying they must be elected.
However, her decision was opposed by Kiboga Woman MP Ruth Nankabirwa who said Museveni had already resolved their reappointment in the meeting which sat on November 30, 2018.
“I will move a motion to challenge your ruling. Because the rules allow me oppose some of the provisions in your ruling,” said Nankabirwa, also NRM Chief Whip.
On the same notice last week, Workers’ MP Sam Lyomoki rubbished the NRM road map saying that it was only looking at the sole candidature mentality which he vowed to stop. He promised to contest against Museveni in the coming primaries.
