In a bid to blackmail him, Hillary Kiyaga, popularly known as Dr Hilderman has scoffed at Bebe Cool, claiming that the self-proclaimed Big Size has helped People Power to expose government’s weaknesses.
This after Bebe Cool released a video of Hilderman signing documents after receiving Shs2,000,000, of Shs400 million that President Museveni gave artistes who featured on the Tubonga Nawe project.
In an exclusive interview with Watchdog Uganda, Hilderman said Bebe Cool is the biggest example of ‘misuse of tax payer’s money by the government.’
“This kind of impunity is something that People Power always advocates against.”
“Bebe Cool said the government gave him Shs400 million for the artistes’ Sacco, but this money only reached a few selected artistes. There is no accountability for this money and the government does not care to follow up because the money was misused by Bebe Cool,” said Hilderman.
According to the Mazongoto singer, Bebe Cool is doing a lot to make the work of ‘People Power’ easy because he makes ‘many silly’ mistakes that expose the weaknesses of the government.
And it is for this reason that his ‘undying love for NRM’ started to perish after seeing how Bebe Cool exploited government.
“Farmers are told to grow maize and during harvest prices drop and the government does nothing to help, people suffer to get medicine and treatment in government hospitals yet government can give Bebe Cool Shs100 million to shoot a music video in USA,” he said.
Hilderman claims that when he realised such selfish actions, he started to pull out from the party and officially left NRM after the Age Limit Amendment Bill.
“The greed and misuse of office is something uncalled for. I saw how one person destroyed the most sacred thing of our country – the Constitution – in favor of his selfish needs and I could not be part of it. That’s why a joined People Power,” he said.
“Bebe Cool’s biggest mistake was to mute the audio which left many unanswered questions such as ‘Where did the 398 million go?’ Let him show the accountability of that money and how it was distributed. Then we can talk,” he said.
