Former Muasa boss appointed Makerere University spokesperson

Dr Muhammad Kiggundu has been appointed as Makerere University’s Communication and Interpersonal Relations Manager, Watchdog Uganda has learnt.

The new boss is a former Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) chairperson.

Rita Namisango who has been the University Spokesperson has been demoted and she will be working under Kiggundu.

“They have just merged the two offices (Communications and International Relations) and appointed an acting manager communications and International relations office for one year,” a source said.

According to a letter from the university’s Human Resource office dated January 18, Kigguddu takes over his new role with immediate effect.

His first job is to deal with trying to firefight an ongoing sit down strike by University staff
