Nyamityobora Football Club return to The Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku to face a resurgent Express FC in the Uganda Premier League on Friday.
Nyamityobora registered their first win of the season – a 2-1 defeat of rivals Mbarara City in October at the stadium and hope to get one better of an Express side that has climbed to 10th under Keffa Kisala in the 16-team UPL log.
Kisala has however, labelled Friday’s visitors ‘tricky’.
“It’s a tricky game! We are playing a team below us, a team fighting to go up with us it means it will be a difficult game and we are coming from a festive season which has a lot of disorganisation we have managed to keep the boys,” Kisala told the media.
The Nyakare are 15th, three points above bottom placed Paidha Black Angels who have registered only one win and a draw.
Today, the Red Eagles will need to bounce back especially after losing 2-0 to rivals SC Villa the last time out and also seeing their Uganda Cup tie against Paidha Black Angels forfeited after the home team failed to turn up. Kisala has rallied his charges to double their efforts if they are to overcome last season’s troubles.
but will require a late fitness assessment as will Arthur Kiggundu. Isaac Mutanga is sidelined with sickness.
Nyamityobora will miss out on the services of captain Alex Komakech, who is out due to fitness problems. But Asaph Mwebaze will look to striker Patrick Gonahasa whose hatrick while playing for Simba a few years ago will still be fresh in the memory of many at Express.
This will be the first game between the two sides in the top flight.
