Youth in Kamwokya have on Thursday morning protested against police’s move to cancel Bobi Wine’s Boxing Day concert.
The youth in the city suburb have blocked roads in the area and burning tyres to express their dissatisfaction.
Meanwhile, police and military have been deployed to calm the situation.
On Wednesday, the Kyadondo East legislator was blocked by police from staging his show that was supposed to take place at his One Love Beach in Busabala.
Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima said Bobi Wine did not write to Police seeking permission and security for his concert.
“As far as I’m aware, I don’t think the concert will happen unless it was cleared this morning. If Bobi Wine hasn’t written to Police about his concert, that’s not my issue because if he writes, we shall police his concert,” the police mouthpiece said before blocking Bobi Wine’s show.
