President Museveni has cautioned Ugandans to be on alert as they celebrate Christmas.
Museveni’s massage, posted on his official twitter handle on Monday, also asked Ugandans to take care as they are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Dear countrymen, I congratulate you for making it to the end of 2018. As we get into the festive season I urge you to celebrate responsibly. Like I have urged you in the past, security is our collective responsibility so let’s be alert,” reads the massage.
“Security agencies are on alert to ensure we have an incident-free festive season.”
The President also cautioned his grand children, the Bazukulu to be mindful with alcohol as they celebrate in this festive season. “To the Bazukulu, beware that alcoholism and promiscuity comes with a price. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
The police earlier had warned Ugandans of an impending attack by terrorist groups, urging them to be vigilant this festive season. Several suspected wrong elements have in the process been arrested.
