A month in Sanya, China as a Miss World contestant, can be as long as 356 days.
One month away, and Quiin Abenakyo, crowned Miss Uganda 2018 in August, has become more recognisable than the Crested Crane.
This after Abenakyo, on Saturday, December 8 made history as she was crowned Miss World 2018- Africa.
She joined Miss Belarus (Europe), Miss Mexico ( Americas), Miss Jamaica – (Caribbean), Miss Thailand (Asia & Oceania) as other Continental winners, in the process defeating Miss Mauritius, Murielle Ravina to become the first Ugandan to make it into the top 30, then 12 and finally best three.
Abenakyo narrowly missed out on the crown to Miss Mexico, Vanessa Ponce De Leon and Thailand’s Nicolene Limsnukan. De Leon replaced India’s Manushi Chhillar.
Over 118 beauty contestants from across the world took part in the 68th edition of Miss World.
