Hundreds of revelers thronged the Forever Resort next to the to source of the Nile Bridge on Sunday for the Jinja edition of Fish Festival.
Generally considered a very healthy food, the fun seekers devoured all types of differently prepared fish.
Various restaurants like Source of the Nile Hotel, Bourbon, Asaamad Indian restaurant, Sailing Club, Forever Resort, KISEM Fish House all gave out their best of fish menus from local to international dishes ranging from Indian fish curry, whole steamed Nile perch, fillets and fish soups not forgetting the fishermen’s cooked fish in form of Kibelo, fish Katogo, Mpuuta Kikalayi, Modomoda, roasted fish skin; all that left fish lovers yearning for more.
The fest, graced by Water and Environment Minister Sam Cheptoris, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) board chairman Daudi Migereko and Adolf Gerstl, team leader of GIZ among others , was also used to learn more about the fishing business, fish farming, value addition like making of fish sausages, fish pizza, Mukene powder among others.
Party goers were also entertained by the likes of Cindy, Daxx Kartel, Sandra Sanja just to mention but a few.
Schools that participated in the Blue Economy Quiz competitions, music and art exhibitions as well as best women entrepreneurs in fisheries were awarded.
