The revelation was made on the Uganda Government? twitter handle @GovtOfUg, following the humiliation suffered by veteran singer, songwriter, dancer Michael Ross Kakooza on Saturday.
For those that need to be brought up to speed, during the 11th edition of the annual Johnnie Walker Soul Safari featuring American singer Genuwine, Michael Ross jumped onto stage to play backup dancer. He did not, however, last as second as he was shoved from one end of the stage to another until he was thrown off by mean looking bouncers.
“We are going to register all bouncers in the Country to ensure that what happened to Michael Ross yesterday doesn’t happen again. We are committed to ensuring such embarrassment is handled,” the tweet reads.
Meanwhile, as you digest that ‘@GovtOfUg’ is a parody account of the Government of Uganda, the Ama Take my Clothes Off singer has come out to apologise for mishap.
A statement on his Instagram account posted several hours after the shameful even reads, “First of all I take full responsibility for all my actions in this video clip. I had no business being on that stage in the first place. But here’s what happened. Ginuwine was performing his last song Pony which happened to be a fovourite of mine. So I made my way to the back of the VIP to the front with my phone in hand ready to record a clop of that moment. But I was pushed by a bouncer who claimed that I was too close to the stage. We got onto a short argument because he was too disrespectful towards me. So I put my phone back in my pocket and without even thinking twice, I slipped behind the bouncer and jumped on stage. That’s when I got bounced. I had no intention of disrupting the show whatsoever. I just made a silly mistake. However, I am thankful that when I was thrown off stage, I didn’t get hurt. So I take full responsibility again and I apologize to @Ginuwine, the organisers of the show for the inconvenience and all my fans incase I let y’all down in any way.”
