Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Sentumu declined a post on the newly released Shadow Cabinet, Watchdog has learnt.
The new cabinet was released on Thursday by Leader of Opposition in Parliament Betty Aol Ochan.
“Bobi Wine (Kyagulanyi) was offered an opportunity to head the ministerial post of defence. He, however, said that he was still learning and very busy in his constituency,” the source said.
Kyagulanyi has spent about 16 months in the 10th Parliament but is regarded as one of the most vibrant legislators.
He has played Kingmaker to several MPs, helping Paul Mwiru (Jinja East), Asumani Basalilwa (Bugiri Municipality) and Kasiano Wadri (Arua Municipality) among others ‘enter’ Parliament.
The post was offered Bernard Atiku.
But newly appointed shadow minister for Kampala, Betty Namboze has said the new list has got some missing portfolios.
According the Mukono Municipality MP, the new list needs some corrections since there some missing elements which are very important.
“The new list which I have seen has no minister of information yet this ministry is very important in the shadow government. This is where we find opposition spokesman,” Namboze told Watchdog Uganda.
“I hope the LOP will make the corrections.”
The new cabinet, according to Namboze, still has members of Winnie Kizza’s team.
