A total of 631 healthcare and frontline workers have been vaccinated with Ebola rVsV.
According to Ministry of Health spokesman Emmanuel Ainebyoona, the vaccination exercise targeting 2,000 healthcare and frontline workers started in Ntoroko District. Here, a a total of 107 HCWs/FLWs received the vaccines from November 1-10.
However, between November 11-12, nine people missed vaccination, but out of their own will.
“You know this was a voluntary vaccination so people who missed, I think did it at their own wish since we did not get any information pertaining their absence,” Ainebyoona told Watchdog Uganda.
So far, vaccination is ongoing in Kasese district, having commenced on November 13. Over 524 HCWs/FLWs have been vaccinated, according to Ainebyona, bringing the number vaccinated thus far to 640.
