The StarTimes Uganda Premier league returns on Tuesday, November 20 when Onduparaka Football Club host Ndejje University at the Green Light Stadium in Arua.
Both sides will be on a mission to bounce back from defeats. Onduparaka suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Maroons in Luzira while Ndejje University lost 3-0 at home to Bright Stars.
This will be the first meeting between these two clubs in the top division but much of the pre-match talk has centered on Onduparaka and the shock departure of their head coach Asaph Mwebaze. Though no official communication has been made by the club, Mwebaze himself confirmed that he had parted ways with the Arua based side.
No reason has been stated as to why he left despite promising the club heaven on earth when he was appointed in June this year.
The caterpillars will be without the services of skipper Rashid Toha who is with the National U23 side, the Kobs. Malish Jamal and Gadaffi Wahab still remain sidelined with injuries while Allan Busobozi aces clearance issues.
Adriko Gasper returned to full training during the international break, Solomon Okwalinga overcame a hamstring that has kept him out for the last three matches and Nicholas Sebwato, Vianey Sekajugo, Abel Eturude and Nicholas Kagaba all joined the team back from national duty and are expected to make the squad list.
The Caterpillars have picked two points from a maximum nine points In their last three games, while Ndejje have picked up just three points from a possible nine conceding seven times. Raymond Komakech’s students have scored twice and kept just one clean sheet in their 1-0 win over fellow new comers Paidha Black Angels.
A win elevates Onduparaka to 14 points before taking a break till December 1 when they visit Express FC in Wankulukuku while Ndejje could climb up to 11th if they collect all three points.
“We haven’t been performing well at home and we feel bad because we are supposed to be better at home. But we are ready to rise up and play our best judging from the moral and trainings we’ve had,” said Dennis Okot during the pre-match press conference on Monday.
