Bambi Bebe Cool. After some section of Ugandan fans decided to boycott voting for him at the All African Music Awards, the self proclaimed Big Size feels deflated. The AFRIMAs are due in Ghana next weekend on November 22-/24.
Last week, social media critics came up with plan to boycott Bebe Cool and vote for Tanzania’s Bongo Flavor artiste Diamond Platinum as the Best East African Male artiste, AFRIMA 2018.
Ugandans planned to boycott Bebe Cool because of statements he made during the sanctioning of the social media tax bill.
Bebe Cool referred to Ugandans who urged government to scrap off social media tax as ‘hooligans’ with shallow minds, and also regarded his fellow musicians in said struggle as cockroaches.
On his Facebook page, Bebe Cool was not ready to fight with people’s decision to boycott him but rather told them that he will not be pressured by their decision.
”In the ongoing Afrima awards slates for Ghana next weekend, there is only ONE MALE UGANDAN NOMINEE in all the awards, so if you had digested this earlier, you wouldn’t be on pressure or hurt like you are now,” said Bebe.
Bebe Cool added that since he is the only male Ugandan artiste nominated in the awards, he feels like a winner already.
“I am already a winner even if I lose to an East African brother. After all East Africa is one now, not forgetting even a nomination is a win. This is what they call digesting issues,” disclosed Bebe.
