The Rubanda District police commander has praised the district security team for their efforts in curbing crime, saying the region is almost crime free.
According to ASP Tai Ramadhan, Rubanda district has the lowest number of inmates in their prisons compared to other neighboring districts of Kisoro, Kanungu, Rukungiri, Kabale and Rukiga that form Kigezi subregion.
“As of today, we only have two I mates at our central police prison and it’s not something that is easy to attain,” he said
Ramadhan was speaking during the district Council budget conference at the district headquarters Mulore, Rubanda on Wednesday.
He credited the security team despite the meager resources available and lauded the district for encouraging tourism and investors, before noting that the security budget from Kampala isn’t enough to support the security activities in the district.
