Incoming Mukono Resident t District Commissioner (RDC) Fred Bamwine has warned medical workers that they will be dismissed if they fail to deliver services to the public’s expectations.
He was on Wednesday addressing the district medical department staff in an acclimatization meeting held at the district headquarters.
Bamwine was recently transferred from Buikwe to Mukono to replace Haji Nasser Munuulo.
He said that in his manifesto, President Museveni pledged to provide improved health services, and reminded the medical workers that this can only be effected through their diligent service.
“I am in the district on his behalf and if you annoy him, he will turn his anger to me and I will subsequently lose my job,” Bamwine said.
To counter poor service delivery, the RDC announced that he will be making impromptu visits to health units on any day without alerting them, adding that some units are known to remain closed on weekends and on public holidays.
Earlier, Mukono Chief Administrative Officer George Ntulume cautioned medical staff against late coming, unexplained absenteeism and harshness towards patients especially expectant mothers.
