MTN Kampala Marathon

The annual MTN Kampala Marathon is back but with a twist. The road race which begun in 2004 has seen several communities improved with the monies collected from the event.
The 2018 edition though has twists with the introduction of regional marathons in Mbale, Gulu and Mbarara towns.
The regional marathons will be climaxed by the main Kampala Marathon on Sunday, November 23 in the various race categories, 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km.
The giant telecom company also revealed huge cash prizes for the respective winners with the 42km winner earning the fattest cheque of Shs40m. The second will earn Shs20m while the third will win Shs10m.
MTN Uganda acting MD Anthony Katamba highlighted the importance of this edition which is devoted to marternal health.
“The need to run so as to help is key and with this edition targeting marternel health we have a target of 30,000 people and we are sure we shall hit the mark, we also tested the regional race in Mbale last year and we feel it is the right time to do it” Said Katamba.
Kits and registration will cost Shs25,000 each but 2,000 less if you use Momo pay.
Mbale Half Marathon will take place on Nov3, Gulu on Nov 10, and Mbabara Nov 17 before the main Kampala raceon November 23.
