A hand grenade was on Wednesday recovered at Kyase B village, Buhara Sub-county, Kabale District.
The grenade was recovered and detonated by Police Bomb Squad headed by AIP Poltaz Bapfakurera in the land currently being used by Sino Mineral Investment Company limited. The land formerly belonged to late Sulaiman Kajura, an army man. He died 15 years ago.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson, while speaking to Watchdog Uganda said they received information about the grenade from Kajura’s widow, Sipiranzo Kajura.
“She was notified about the grenade by her husband while on his sick bay,” Maate said, before commending her for her her bravery in volunteering the information for the safety of area residents.
