Senior Four candidates across the country have begun writing their final Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations. In total, 305,000 candidates are expected to take part in the month-long activity after four years of lower secondary. Successful candidates are usually awarded a UCE-Certificate.
Candidates started with a Physics practical exam at 9am before doing a rather ‘optional’ Fine art exam in the afternoon. Tomorrow candidates will sit Chemistry practicals in the morning and Music in the afternoon.
More than 145,000 candidates are from Universal Secondary Education (USE) aided schools and close to 160,000 are from private schools. Females account for nearly half of the candidates sitting this year’s O-Level exams.
The last exams -Technical Drawings, PS Mechanical practice, IPS Building practice and IPS Electrical Practice as their final papers – will be sat on November 16.
