Uganda Golf Club will host the first of seven Golf Series, which will see players traverse different courses around the country for an ultimate experience and prize money.
The Golf Series, launched on Monday will see action tee off on October 12, then head to Tooro Golf Club and Mbarara Club on November 10 and 24 respectively while Jinja Club will wrap up the year on December 8.
Entebbe Golf Club will host the first event of next year on January 26 before the penultimate stage on February 2 at Lake Victoria Serena Kigo. The final round will be at the Uganda Golf Club on February 23.
According to Uganda Breweries Limited Marketing Manager, Juliana Kagwa, the series will give an opportunity for newbees and seasoned golfers to showcase their skills.
“We have created a platform for whoever feels they have what it takes in golf to come and showcase it. We believe this will expose talent but also help other regions get a great experience of golf,” Kagwa said at the Media briefing at Kitante Golf Club.
A grand prize of Shs100m along with various prizes have been lined up for the winners including an all-expenses paid trip to Payyata Thailand for both the male and female winners.
The event is sponsored by Tusker Malt Lager.
Registration at the six venues is already open but for a golfer to win the ultimate prize, they have to have competed at all the circuits. Golfers can register individually or in teams.
