NBL Finals Game Two (Best Of 7).
City Oilers 78-71 Betway Power.
(Series tied 1-1)
If anyone thought the post season in Ugandan basketball will wrap up quick, they’d better think twice. This after City Oilers defeated Betway Power 71-78 to level the series in the best of seven National Basketball League Final on Friday evening at the Lugogo arena.
Betway Power who had won Game One convincingly came with the same, same energy but maybe same strategy. Fast forward, Power won the first quarter 11-13 but that was not enough breathing space. And sure enough, Oilers would catch up, dominating the rest of the game.
Burundian Landry Ndikumana led the charts posting 23 points and 18 rebounds while Ben Komakech and Jimmy Enabu added 12 and 11 points respectively. For Betway Power, Joseph Ikong led with 16 points while Stephen Wundi and Paul Odong added 15 and 13 points respectively.
The win means after two games played in the best of seven final, the series is tied at 1-1 with game three set for Sunday at the same venue.
