‘Never under estimate the heart of a champion’, they say. And Vipers are doing just that after they picked up a second straight win in the Uganda premier league.
The Venoms edged Maroons in Luzira, clawing back into the game after Pius Obuya had given the hosts the lead after 23 minutes. However, Davis Kasirye who netted Vipers’ winner had other ideas.
The lanky forward made amends four minutes later, leveling the tie before Moses Waiswa scored from a free kick to give the Venoms the lead at the stroke of half time.
Elsewhere, Express at Wankulukuku failed to make home advantage count after they played out a goalless draw against URA. The same scoreline was registered in Lugogo with Mike Mutebi’s charges firing blanks against Kirinya Jinja SS.
In Jinja, Tooro United, snatched an away win against Bul with an Allan Kayiwa strike.
Action continues on Wednesday with four fixtures on card.
