The Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament Catherine Atwakire Ndamira has asked the youth to desist from engaging in sexual relationships if they are to have a better future.
In her message that was read by the Director of Vidas Engineering Services, Didas Ndamira, the legislator said most of the youth have engaged in sexual relationships which has led some of them into getting unwanted pregnancies.
Mr Ndamirsa was speaking at a one-day ‘Re-Union Conference of the Kabale Diocesan Youth’ at St Stephen Kirigime Catholic Church in Kabale Municipality on Sunday.
The legislator said that some of male youth engage in theft with the intention to get money to enjoy with their girlfriends, an issue she said that led to some of the youth being imprisoned.
She asked the youth to concentrate on what can develop them and those at school to concentrate on their books for a better academic performance.
Speaking at the same function, the Chairperson of Christ the King Parish council in Kabale Municipality, Isaiah Kanyamahane advised the youth to be critical thinkers by making effective decisions if they are to be productive for their parents.
