A member of parliament representing Samia Bugwe North constituency Gideon Onyango and a resident in Nakabago village Mukono district was on Wednesday dragged to Mukono court for neglecting a one year old baby.
Onyango who failed to appear before the grade one magistrate Pamela Bomukama has been pinned by Juliana Ainembazi the complainant for failing to support their child.
Magistrate Bomukama told court that two similar cases were filed both in Mukono and Busia noting that the similar case was filed in July by Mr. Onyango in Busia and Ms. Ainembazi also filed a similar one at Mukono court.
Magistrate referred the case to be heard in Busia court since the MP comes from Busia.
Ainembazi said Onyango has neglected her with the child since 2017.
” I met Mr. Onyango in 2013 before becoming an MP and I was working in Mukono town by then,” she said.
She said Onyango promised heaven and earth and even rented her a house of shs. 400,000 per month in Bweyogere but in 2017, Onyango first stole the kid from her which case she reported to to Bweyogere police.
She later received her child from CPS Kampala but Onyango refused to give her support since last year.
“I have tried to call him but he doesn’t pick until I reported the case in probation office where they called him and refused that’s when they feared me Mukono court,” She said.
Ainembazi calls on minister state minister for youth Nakiwala Kiyingi and Speaker Rebecca Kadaga to intervene in the matter.
However Mr. Onyango said the issues are already in court and said he will not comment anything
