The board meeting of Nation Media has designated Charles Bichachi from Daily Monitor executive editor and appointed him to a public relations job newly created in the company as ‘Public Editor’.
The board which had grown frustrated with declining circulation of Daily Monitor and resignations of several senior editors and reporters, said in the statement that Mr Bichachi will use his wealth of experience to bridge the gap between the paper and the readers. In his new role he will help assure the readers of the newspaper that whatever it does is in the public interest.
Mr Daniel Kalinaki will continue overseeing operations at Daily Monitor as well as NTV and East African newspaper, while Margaret Vuchiri is the managing editor of Daily Monitor and assisted by Eriasa Mukiibi on the weekend editions.
