Police in Kabale is investigating circumstances under which a 30 years old man was murdered by mob.
The deceased identified as Methodius Vumiriya of Bushuro cell( parish), Kitumba subcounty was allegedly murdered on Tuesday 11/09/18 few minutes past midnight at Kikungiri cell Mwanjari ward Southern division Kabale municipality.
It’s alleged that the deceased tried to break into the house of Mr Innocent Mbinenamukama, fortunately had a night watchman one Nyanzi Bosco who arrested him and was lynched.
The suspect thief upon his arrest was later burnt at the entrance of the home where the body was found lying by police and was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary where postmortem was done.
Two people mentioned above were arrested for questioning. This case has been registered at Kabale police under file number CRB 2018/2018.
People taking law ‘into their hands’
Maate, while speaking to our reporter has condemned the public against killing any suspected criminal. According to him, killing a suspect is a criminal itself that could lead to arrest of other members of the public.
He has called on Ugandans to avoid ‘taking the law’ into their hands.
