His eminence the mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje on Friday joined other religious leaders and the Ugandans to condemn the torturing of people arguing the use of peaceful ways in the fate of solving disagreements.
Members of parliament including the Kyadondo east member of parliament Kyagulanyi Sentamu commonly known as Bobi Wine and Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake were arrested during the fracas that happened in Arua by-election campaign on 13th of August 2018 and were brutality tortured by the security operatives.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the new caretaker district Kadhis of the four(4) newly introduced districts that makeup Kampala region at the Uganda Muslim council headquarters in Kampala, the mufti of Uganda revealed that they are closely following the political situation in the country as it concerns us all.
‘’We have as religious leaders stated always that peace must prevail as the situation in the country concerns all of us and we want justice to prevail’’, said mufti.
Mufti says what’s going on in the country shows that Muslims are being taken as less important people when a Muslim is arrested it’s not news yet when another is apprehended the whole world comes out with our help to advocate for him.
He adds that many Muslims being charged with similar big offences with those who are bailed but for Muslims they are not minded about hence vowing not to withstand such justice segregation.
Again mufti appealed to people especially the Muslims to mind about maintaining laws and respect the leaders so that they can have a base to fight for them in case of problems.
In line with Umsc constitution article 1, article 2 section 2, article 10 section 1 UMSC sworn in new caretaker district Kadhis of the four(4) districts that makeup Kampala region.
The four districts include Rubaga muslim district where sheikh Ntambi jamiru was sworn in as the district kadhi, Makindye muslim district sheikh mutambala husein was sworn in ,Kawempe muslim district sheikh Hamid serwadda was sworn-in and Nakawa muslim district sheikh bruhan Zakiyu serunjoji and Interim chairmen of the following muslim districts respectively.
This occasion was conducted by the chairman UMSC electoral commission Haj Kayongo Nyago who said that this exercise is done in accordance with UMSC constitution.
On the same note UMSC Sec Gen Haj Ramathan Mugalu said that UMSC is on high speed to serve ummah and this pace of development won’t be stopped by self seekers.
Other notable leaders were present as the new care district kadhis are taking oath to serve muslims under the UMSC structure.
