Bunyoro sub-region is mourning the death of Rev Jackson Kasozi Nsamba, former Bunyoro Kingdom prime minister, who died on Friday.
Andrew Byakutaaga the kingdom prime minister says Rev. Kasozi died Friday morning at his home in Kampala after a short illness.
Rev Kasozi Nsamba served as the Kingdom Premier from April 2012 to March 2015, substantivelywho had been serving in acting capacity after he replaced.
Bunyoro affairs state minister Ernest Kiiza has described the deceased as a very humble and honest man.
60-year-old Jovia Murungi a resident of Hoima town says Bunyoro Kingdom has lost a great pillar. She has described the deceased as a peaceful, caring and loving man who served the Kingdom diligently.
During his reign, Rev Kasozi always demanded government to return the kingdom assets. The government took the property when cultural institutions were abolished during the Obote I regime in 1967.
In March 2014, Rev. Kiiza petitioned government through the then internal affairs minister the late Aronda Nyakairima to regulate the high influx of immigrants into the oil-rich region noting that they should be identified and their purpose of coming be established.
