Ugandans have been urged to take all possible measures of rescuing and conserving the environment.
This was said during a prayer breakfast ceremony that took place at Arocha head offices in Gayaza.
During her remarks, the acting National Director for Arocha Adrine Musiime Tumwesigye said that if all Ugandans come up with solutions of safeguarding the environment, we would be in a safe place free of climate change.
“Let us plant trees,vegetables,do rain water harvesting and also regulate on the energy that we use.” Musiime advised.
She however advised government to put more effort of saving forests since they are being degraded at a very high rate.
The function was lead by the chairman board of trustees for Arocha Uganda Rev Festo Kalungi who advised government to implement the policies that are made to safeguard environment.
“Government has good policies on environment but they all stay on clean pieces of paper. These must be implemented” Kalungi said.
He went ahead to advise all Ugandans not to be extravagant after receiving from God.
“God is generous and when He gives you,there is no need of being extravagant. People just need to protect the gold that they have.” Noted Kalungi
It is on this note that Kalungi advised all Ugandans to understand the plantations that are surrounding them so that they can be put to proper use.
He also added that it is everyone’s responsibility to save the environment rather that leaving most of the work to NEMA.
