Team Uganda has finished 2nd overall at the 8th Woodball World Cup 2018 held at Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Uganda managed to collect 1 Gold Medal (Fairway – Women’s Team), 5 bronze medals and 1 silver to finish behind Thailand.
Nagaba Charity a player and student at Kampala International University said that winning the gold was one thing that they all yearned for.
Nagaba thanked the team coach Atamba Onesmas for the good training and also her club KIU for the support rendered.
Paul Mark Kayongo,the president of the Uganda Woodall federation when asked about the success said that this is one thing that the federation has always wanted inspite of the fact that their target was to become number one.
“We wanted to be number one but that’s how we have managed to play. We do believe that next word cup we shall fight for the top slot” noted Kayongo.
