Self-made social entrepreneur and motivational speaker Frank Gashumba has lashed out at Ugandans who use social media platforms to spread hatred, envy and lies.
Posting on his Facebook page, Gashumba said all social media platforms were started by smart young men and women in the US for people to network positively but unfortunately Ugandans have successfully turned them into a platform for falsehoods, lies, fake news, envy, malice and hatred.
He posted;
The most common traits among the social media audience in Uganda are envy, hatred and lies. All these social media platforms we are using were started by smart young men& women in the US for us to network positively. Unfortunately, we have successfully turned them into a platform for falsehoods, lies, fake news, envy, malice and hatred.
Initially, I thought social media would be a platform to promote knowledge and oneness. Unfortunately in Uganda, it’s doing the opposite. Very sad!
If People can learn to hate, they can be taught to love and we should always remember that that. Nobody is born hateful and bitter. These are habits that are picked up along the way as well go through life.
