The chairman for the National Council of Spots (NCS) Mr. Bosco Onyik has cautioned athletes on disappearing when sent to represent Uganda in various games.
Speaking this, Onyik was addressing sportsmen who are going to represent Uganda in the All Africa Youth Games in Algeria.
Onyik said that many of these athletes are young and have a brighter future ahead of them which they must concentrate on.
“East or West home is the best. So I don’t see any reason why many of you disappear. ” said Onyik.
The function was also embraced by the acting general secretary for NCS Dr ogwel Bernard Patrick who said that government shall keep on supporting all sportsmen in the country.
A team of 29 athletes shall vacate in bits to represent Uganda in seven disciplines.
The minister of state for sports Charles Bakabulindi shall head the delegation where athletics,badminton, rowing, swimming, weightlifting and handball shall be represented.
Lutaya Hamdan Serwanga,an athlete for weightlifting has promised to bring gold for Uganda due to his continued improvement in the game.
The games are slated for 18th to 28th of July 2018.
